Ecostessey Park, Norwich
Our £7m sustainable housing project in Norwich comprises 22 contemporary houses in a riverside location on the outskirts of the city. The development commenced early in 2007 and involved the regeneration of a sensitive site to form some of the most environmentally advanced residential space in the region.
The development benefits from a number of nonstandard house design elements including a sedum roof, very high thermal insulation of each room, self-cleaning glass and rainwater harvesting. The building also generates a proportion of its own power requirement using wind turbines. Further energy savings are achieved by solar-powered street lighting which is activated as required by movement sensors. This project is one of the first zero carbon housing developments in the UK and is an example of our commitment to building the homes of the future.
